Lakeland, Fla. (July 18, 2026) – Three teenagers were killed Wednesday night in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 98 North in Lakeland, according to the Lakeland Police Department.
Investigators said the crash occurred shortly before 10:30 p.m. when a Nissan carrying the teens was traveling northbound on U.S. 98 North at a high rate of speed.
Authorities said a Lincoln pickup truck was traveling southbound on U.S. 98 North when the driver entered a left-turn lane and attempted to turn into a plaza on the east side of the roadway.
Police said the Nissan collided with the pickup truck during the turn, resulting in a fatal crash that claimed the lives of three teenagers.
The Lakeland Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
