Multi-Vehicle Collision on SR-417 South Causes Injuries and Lane Closures Near Orlando

Orange County, Fla. (June 22, 2026) – A multi-vehicle crash on State Road 417 in south Orange County caused major traffic delays Tuesday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Officials said the crash occurred around 7 a.m. on State Road 417 southbound at Mile Marker 5, just south of Interstate 4.

According to investigators, a 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan was traveling northbound in the outside lane when it changed lanes into the inside lane and collided with a 2018 RAM 4500. The impact caused both vehicles to lose control, sending the Volkswagen across the median into the southbound lanes, where it struck a 2009 Mazda 3.

Authorities said the driver of the Volkswagen and the driver of the Mazda were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured and remained at the scene.

Due to the crash, a roadblock was reported in the southbound outside lane. Motorists were advised to exit at Mile Marker 4 and use State Road 536 as an alternate route while crews worked to clear the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
