Tampa, Fla. (July 09, 2026) – A man is facing felony charges after allegedly leading state troopers on a high-speed chase along Interstate 4 Saturday morning that ended in a violent crash in Tampa.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver exceeded 100 mph while traveling on the highway shoulder in an attempt to evade troopers before losing control and crashing. A female passenger sustained serious injuries in the wreck.
Emergency crews extricated the injured passenger from the vehicle before transporting her to a local hospital for emergency treatment.
The driver was taken into custody and is facing felony charges. The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
