Kissimmee, Florida (August 8, 2026) – The Florida Highway Patrol is searching for a driver who allegedly fled the scene of a hit-and-run crash Monday morning near two schools in Kissimmee.
The crash occurred shortly before 8 a.m. at the intersection of Ham Brown Road and Campbell Road, near Sunrise Elementary School and Horizon Middle School, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Investigators said a dark-colored SUV reportedly sideswiped a Chevrolet Tahoe before leaving the area. No injuries were reported in connection with the collision.
The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident and is seeking information that could help identify the driver and vehicle involved in the crash.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information about the vehicle or driver is asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol by dialing *347.
Florida law generally requires drivers involved in crashes resulting in property damage or injury to stop at the scene and provide the information required by law. Leaving the scene of a crash can result in criminal penalties depending on the circumstances and whether anyone was injured.
Individuals who suffer injuries or property damage in a hit-and-run collision may also have potential civil claims, depending on the available evidence and the circumstances of the crash. Evidence such as photographs, surveillance footage, witness statements, vehicle damage, and law enforcement reports may be important when investigating these incidents.
When the at-fault driver cannot immediately be identified, investigators may rely on witnesses, nearby surveillance cameras, vehicle descriptions, and other evidence to determine who was involved.
This summary is based on information provided regarding the Florida Highway Patrol’s investigation. No personal identifying information concerning the driver or other individuals involved has been included. This report is provided for general informational purposes only and should not be considered legal advice or legal solicitation.
