Fatal Semi Truck Accident on Orange Blossom Trail Near SR-417 Under Investigation

Orange County, Fla. (July 19, 2026) – A man was killed early Monday morning in a crash involving a tractor-trailer at the intersection of Orange Blossom Trail and the northbound State Road 417 exit ramp in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash occurred around 2 a.m. when the man was driving a Kia K4 southbound on Orange Blossom Trail. According to witness statements, the Kia driver ran a red light as a 43-year-old Kissimmee man driving a Freightliner tractor-trailer was making a left turn from the northbound SR-417 exit ramp onto northbound Orange Blossom Trail.

Investigators said the Kia struck the left side of the tractor-trailer before leaving the roadway and crashing into a light pole. The Kia driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released pending identification by the Medical Examiner’s Office. The truck driver was not injured, remained at the scene, and cooperated with investigators.

The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the fatal crash.
