Tampa, Fla. (July 06, 2026) – A deadly two-vehicle crash closed the northbound lanes of Florida Avenue in Tampa on Thursday morning, according to the Tampa Police Department.
Authorities said officers responded to the collision at approximately 7:15 a.m. Preliminary information indicates a man in his mid-20s was speeding northbound in a blue 2022 Tesla while a man in his mid-30s was traveling southbound in a 2024 Volkswagen and attempted to make a left turn into a local dealership.
The Tesla collided with the Volkswagen, resulting in a fatal crash. Police have not released the identity of the victim, and additional details regarding injuries or contributing factors were not immediately available.
The Tampa Police Department continues to investigate the deadly collision.
