Manatee County, Florida (July 24, 2026) – At least one person was injured following a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 in Manatee County Monday morning, causing major traffic delays and lane closures, according to officials.
The collision occurred on northbound I-75 just before State Road 64 in the Manatee County area. Emergency crews responded to the scene after multiple vehicles were involved in the crash, with at least one vehicle coming to rest on its side across multiple lanes of the interstate.
Authorities reported that all northbound lanes were blocked following the crash, forcing morning commuters to pass through the area using the right shoulder. The incident created significant backups, with traffic delays extending for nearly five miles and travel times increasing by more than 30 minutes.
Live traffic camera footage from the Florida Department of Transportation showed one of the crash vehicles overturned across two lanes, while emergency responders worked to manage the scene and assist those involved.
Officials have not released additional details about the number of vehicles involved, the identities of those injured, or the circumstances that led to the collision. The crash investigation remains ongoing.
In Florida, multi-vehicle crashes involving injuries are generally reviewed under negligence and traffic safety laws. Drivers have a responsibility to operate their vehicles safely, maintain proper control, follow traffic regulations, and take reasonable steps to avoid causing harm to others on the roadway.
After a serious interstate crash, investigators may examine evidence including police reports, witness statements, vehicle damage, roadway conditions, driver actions, electronic vehicle data, and available traffic camera footage to determine how the collision occurred and whether negligence contributed.
Florida follows a modified comparative negligence system, meaning an injured person may be able to recover damages if they are found to be 50% or less at fault for the crash. Any compensation awarded may be reduced according to the percentage of fault assigned.
Individuals injured in highway crashes may have potential claims involving medical expenses, lost wages, vehicle repairs, rehabilitation costs, pain and suffering, and other accident-related damages. Insurance coverage and legal options depend on the specific facts of each collision.
General legal information from qualified professionals may help crash victims understand their rights, insurance claims, and potential legal options following a serious injury crash in Manatee County or other Florida communities.
