Tampa, Fla. (July 08, 2026) – Two people were injured in a crash involving a suspected impaired driver Tuesday night on Turner Road in Tampa, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the crash occurred around 11:42 p.m. when a vehicle rear-ended a sedan, causing it to collide head-on with an SUV. The suspected driver’s vehicle continued north, crashed into a fence, and came to a stop in the backyard of a nearby home.
Officials said the driver fled the scene on foot but was later located and taken into custody. Two people involved in the crash were transported to a local hospital with injuries.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the crash.
